Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been refined over thousands of years and its practice continues to evolve along with our modern lifestyles. As a Registered Acupuncturist I use TCM principles to treat a wide range of health concerns. The categories below are some of the many services that I provide as an acupuncturist.

Hi, I’m Stephanie Funk! I am a Registered Acupuncturist practicing in Nanaimo, BC. I provide my clients with a tailored treatment for their issues using the many modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine. My services include acupuncture, cupping (myofascial release), electronic needle stimulation, Gua Sha (microcirculation of soft tissue), Tui Na (Chinese massage), as well as nutritional counselling.
My path to becoming a Registered Acupuncturist took me to many places before I settled here in Nanaimo. My early years were spent in southern Ontario studying for my Bachelor of Arts in International Culture at Huron University College. During my studies I traveled around the globe studying marginalized populations. My desire to bring healing to others led me to work as a caregiver for developmentally disabled individuals in Honduras, India, and Canada.
I went on to work as a tree planter in Northern Alberta and began to explore Western Canada in my winters off. After five years of hard work in the forestry industry I began my studies to become a Registered Acupuncturist. I completed my designation, a 3-year Diploma of Acupuncture, at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC.
My areas of focus include (but are not limited to) women's health, menstrual disorders, postpartum care, digestive issues, emotional health, and sports medicine. It is my joy to serve the wonderful community that we have here in Nanaimo. I am committed to improving the wellness of every client I meet along the way.
